Born and raised in Poplarville, Mississippi, John always had a natural talent for working with his hands. A multi-sport athlete at Poplarville High School, he played both basketball and football before continuing his basketball career at Pearl River Community College. But beyond sports, he had a passion for wiring and electronics—often finding himself the go-to guy for hooking up stereo systems. That passion led him straight into the electrical trade.

After college, John began building his career as an apprentice, gaining hands-on experience with multiple contractors. His first major job was with Walker Electric in Jackson, where he helped wire an entire subdivision in his hometown of Poplarville. From there, he worked for MG Electrical in New Orleans for five years, refining his skills before returning home to join Ron’s Electrical, where he spent another five years mastering his craft.

John also spent three years working for the town of Abita Springs, Louisiana, handling municipal electrical maintenance. From powering city events and ballparks to maintaining the town’s electrical infrastructure—including keeping the Christmas tree shining bright—he played a vital role in keeping the community running.

With over a decade of hands-on experience under his belt, John decided it was time to take the next step. Two years ago, he founded John’s Electric, a company built on expertise, reliability, and a commitment to serving customers along the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Owning his own business was always the dream, and now he’s making it a reality—bringing top-tier electrical solutions to homes and businesses while building a legacy for his family.
